About Me

I discovered somatic work in 2012, after doing years of talk therapy. The therapy I had done often felt supportive and illuminating, but it didn’t give me the tools to actually transform my life. I felt stuck, helplessly watching myself repeat the same old unhelpful behaviors, over and over and over. I felt like I understood the ‘why’ but felt powerless to effect meaningful lasting change. Working with my practitioner I was able to penetrate decades of conditioning to access the memories and childish distortions that kept those patterns entrenched.

The journey of becoming whole isn’t always easy, and at times necessarily involves feeling discomfort and grief. Being with these core wounds in a safe and titrated way is how we begin to release ‘stuck’ emotions.

Core Energetics can be more self-confronting than other excellent modalities such as Somatic Experiencing, Gestalt, or IFS. That said, I also believe it’s also one of the most liberating and worthwhile journeys a person can undertake. If you choose this path, my my role is to guide and support you all along the way.
